Oral Health slogans

Oral Health America’s National Spit Tobacco Education Program (NSTEP) was founded in 1994 as an effort to educate the baseball family and the American public about the dangers of smokeless or spit tobacco, and break the long-standing link between this potentially deadly drug and Americas pastime. Each year, 10-to-16 million Americans put their health at risk by using smokeless tobacco products.

The NSTEP mission is to prevent people, especially children and young adults, from starting to use spit tobacco, and to help all users quit. The program also encourages young baseball players to talk to their coaches and parents about tobacco addiction and the health risks of using tobacco products, including spit and smokeless tobacco.

Throughout the year, Oral Health America’s NSTEP works with Little League Baseball and Softball to educate families about the risks of spit tobacco use, including oral cancer, gum disease, tooth decay, and nicotine addiction.

Oral Health America is the nation’s premier independent advocacy organization dedicated to improving oral health. To find out more, visit and www.nstep.org.

Oral Health America’s National Spit Tobacco Education Program (NSTEP) and Little League® Baseball and Softball are pleased to announce the 2015 NSTEP Slogan Contest on the health consequences of using spit tobacco.

In 10 words or less, Little Leaguers are asked to create an original slogan that effectively describes the hazards of spit tobacco use. All current Little League Baseball and Softball players age 14 and under are eligible. All entries must be received by July 24, 2015.

The National Spit Tobacco Education Program will award the winner with a paid trip for two for one night, including airfare, hotel accommodations and ground transportation to the Little League Baseball® World Series in South Williamsport, Pa. (Please note: The World Series begins August 20, 2015 and concludes August 30, 2015. The winner must be able to travel during this period.)
